Aliquots of nucleic acid
Aliquots of nucleic acidRNA and DNA is extracted from histologically verified frozen specimens in Ukraine and Russia. Extraction is carried out to internationally agreed SOPs. The Institutes in Ukraine and Russia and the Coordinating Centre carry our detailed quality assurance using Agilent Bioanalysers.

Cases on which aliquots of nucleic acid are available at the current time. Please contact the CTB Secretariat for more details.

Aliquots of DNA from blood are also available, in the majority of cases these can be paired with samples of RNA and DNA from tissue from the same patient. DNA is extracted using Qiagen kits.

Serum
Aliquots of serum are also available. These are prepared to an agreed SOP (click here for details).

There is no fee payable for provision of aliquots of nucleic acid or serum, but investigators will be asked to cover the costs of transport of the samples.

Paraffin sections
Sections are available from routine formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue and from tissue microarrays (click here for information on tissue microarrays). The CTB is required to recover the costs of provision of this material.

Costs for paraffin sections from individual paraffin blocks are as follows:

20 US$ for the first section from each block, 3US$ for each subsequent section
